Hello, everyone! Just a quick note to thank Ms. Penny Cheng at Jewelry by Saniki Creations for featuring me on her blog today! It was a very nice surprise and it made my day! Please take a look and give me some comment love! :)

Meet Betty Miller of Magic Senses – Featured Artist

You can find our soaps on our website at www.MagicSenses.com!

As you all know from our announcement, Magic Senses® soap will be displayed at the GBK Academy Awards (Oscars) Gift Lounge in February, 2012. We’ll be represented by the lovely ladies at The Artisan Group: Valerie Propst Guerrero and Nikki Cutro.

After building our display almost a month ago, now it’s time to make the soap bars that will go to Hollywood! Our display holds 5 bars of soap in the following fragrances: Cherry Vanilla, Watermelon, Lemon Lavender, Two to Tango, Seaside and a “Believe in You” Butterfly soap (scented in soft Sweet Pea).

This morning we finished cutting and wrapping Cherry Vanilla and Seaside; from each batch, we chose a winning bar to be famous in a couple of months:

Seaside, one of our most popular Fresh and Clean fragrances, will be available at www.MagicSenses.com starting in January, 2012.

Here is a “behind the scenes” picture of our knives, cutting board and Xacto knife…

Stay tuned for more Oscars Preps pictures and news! And visit our website to get some soap gifts! Last day to order this year: Sunday, December 18.

Finally, we are excited to announce the launch of our brand new Google+ fan page! Here is the link:

Google is still testing the business pages and adding new features every day but we decided to give it a try. Please add us to your circles and stay in touch with us on Google+ as we go through a new learning curve!

We have very exciting news! In February 2012, we’ll be participating to the GBK Academy Awards Gift Lounge!

Our designer glycerin soap will be displayed for celebrities to see and smell. It will also be included in one hundred swag bags for attending guests.

We haven’t decided which of the soaps to send yet. We are debating if we should make a LIMITED EDITION design or just send some of our most loved ones… We’ll have to make a decision soon so if you have a top favorite, let us know below!

Many thanks to ALL our customers, friends and family for choosing, using and spreading the word about our handcrafted soap throughout the years.

Big thank you to The Artisan Group! They’ll be our ambassadors to this very exciting event.

As we go along, we’ll keep you updated on our journey; we’ll post pictures and other info. Please join us on Facebook and Twitter and be the first to know details of our “behind-the-scenes” process. You can even recommend us to Oprah, if you love our product!

Love,

Betty and Mike

Let’s not waste any more time. We have two winners for this giveaway they they are:

Comment no 8 (Mary Beth Elderton) and Comment no 54 (Jennifer H.). Congratulations!

I will e-mail the winners tonight and they have 2 days to get back to me or other names will be chosen.

If you didn’t win this time, stay tuned as we have another giveaway coming soon! And you don’t want to miss that one! :)

Once in a while, we like to let our lovely fans take a look at what we do behind the scenes. Today, I want to show you our color swatches. These are basic colors we use in our glycerin soap. Dozens of variations and shades can be obtained by combining any of them or by simply adding more or less color. They are skin safe and vegan friendly. We have 12 more swatches that are not included below, mostly because we don’t use them very much. :)

When creating a new soap, we make at least a couple of loaves in the colors and design we think would best fit the fragrance and theme we are working on. Each batch is then given the test of time and, amongst many other things, tested for color bleeding, discoloration, etc.

Sometimes, it is really hard to choose the colors for a new design, that’s why we ask our customers for feedback (especially during our craft shows).

To view our designer glycerin soap, please visit MagicSenses.com.

It is a gorgeous summer day here in Northern California, and we are getting ready for a new soap design! Stay tuned! And don’t forget to enter our Watermelon soap giveaway that ends on June 30th!

Love,

Betty @ Magic Senses
