Our friends, Alison and Tim, at 2wheels4water.com have started their journey this morning!
As we announced earlier, we are proud to be their sponsor!
For those of you who don’t know anything about this project here it is in a nutshell: they are trying to fund-raise money in order to help improve the lives of those who do not have access to clean drinking water.
BUT HOW?
Well, they are going to ride their Vespa scooter 1200 miles accross North and South Carolina. Every mile driven on a moped costs just 3.5 cents. Every mile in a typical car costs about 17.5 cents. They are asking you to pledge the difference: 14 cents for every mile they cover.
Thier message is: SAVE GAS. END THIRST.
This is their route:
August 1: Greenville to Spartanburg to Columbia
August 2: Columbia to Bluffton to Hilton Head to Beaufort
August 3: Beaufort to Charleston to Myrtle Beach
August 4: Myrtle Beach to Cape Fear, NC to Raleigh
August 5: Raleigh to Greensboro to Winston Salem to Charlotte
August 6: Charlotte to Asheville to Greenville
